Bring Advent to life with the Unsettling Goods Peace Box

The Updated Advent Peace Box
The Advent Peace Box is back for 2016!  It is a practical tool for worship and study. Support peace in Palestine and Israel, and involve all generations in becoming a justice-seeking church. Particularly designed as an entry point to the struggle for peace in Palestine and Israel, the Advent Peace Box includes intergenerational resources.

There are two versions of the Peace Box available. Both include Zatoun extra-virgin olive oil (certified “Fair Trade” by The Institute for Market Ecology), scent-free pure olive oil soap, and Za’atar (a thyme-herb mix considered a staple of Middle Eastern cooking). More details about pricing can be found on the United Church website.

The 2016 Peace Box also includes a USB drive with worship, workshop, and video resources, as well as olive oil bottle gift tags to pass along a message of just peace with your gifts.

What are we asking you to do?
Promote the Peace Box to congregations in your community and presbytery.

  • Plan to purchase an Advent Peace Box (available in mid-September) for yourself or your faith community.
  • Participate in our FREE webinar on September 20, 2016. Learn from past users about how to use the worship and workshop materials to help plan your congregation’s Advent journey. Visit United in Learning to register.
